Altar Uco, located in the Valle de Uco of Mendoza, is the latest project of esteemed South American winemaker Juan Pablo Michelini. All grapes are harvested by hand, and fermented using only ambient yeasts in concrete tanks. The balance of high altitude, sunshine and cool temperatures at night makes this a concentrated yet balanced expression of Cabernet Sauvignon. Dark, ripe fruits on the attack interwoven with warming spices and dried herbs. Polished tannin and notes of black peppercorn linger with this wine's long finish.
