We’re thrilled to announce an exciting new cuvée called ‘Maceration’ from Adega de Penalva in Portugal’s Dão appellation!
The Adega has been experimenting with this technique for a few vintages now, and we are happy to say that in 2019 they nailed it! As the name implies, this blend of indigenous white varieties spends a healthy three weeks reveling in the goodness of those skins for a gorgeous color, heady floral aroma, and textured, saliva-inducing palate. (To head off the ‘how orange is it’ question at the pass: check it out against a plain background on the left.) Did I mention that it’s spontaneously fermented AND vegan-friendly to boot??
